About
Simon is a Partner in the Business Rates team at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½. He has built up a wealth of business rates knowledge, advising both occupiers and owners of commercial property in both the private and public sector.​

Simon joined ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ in 2019 having previously been with property consultancy Montagu Evans where he led various public sector business rates instructions covering a diverse range of properties including fire stations, police stations, ambulance stations, hospitals, health centre, bus stations and local authority car parks.​

Simon takes a proactive approach to his rating work, leading discussions in centres including Watford, Brent Cross, Hatfield Galleria, Wood Green and Maidenhead. Where negotiations do not result in an acceptable offer of a reduction, Simon will pursue the appeal through the Tribunal system. He has appeared as an expert witness on behalf of clients including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Subway and Ann Summers amongst others. Simon has also been involved in Upper Tribunal appeals on behalf of Harrods and McDonald’s.​

Simon advocates strongly for reform of the business rates system has been quoted in both Property Week and Shopping Centre journal. Simon is a Chartered Surveyor, a member of the Rating Surveyors’ Association and Simon also works as an Assessor for RICS.​
